I am giving an illustrated public on-line talk to the Friends of Belsize Library on 18 November. Key details:

14.30 in New York, and

20.30 in Germany and Austria.

If you’ve ever wondered what I’ve been doing for the last 42 years, or fancy listening to me talking about it, and with luck see a load of exclusive pictures, this is your chance. You can ask me questions afterwards.

Thursday 18 November: Friends of Belsize Library present: Leigh Turner – Writing the World: How Diplomacy Inspires Writing and Vice-Versa
Join the Friends on November 18th as they welcome former British Ambassador Leigh Turner. CLICK HERE to join!  
Leigh Turner, a writer and former British Ambassador, moved to Highgate in 2021. Writing under the pen-name of Robert Pimm, he has authored three books: 

Blood Summit: a thriller set in the Berlin Reichstag
Seven Hotel Stories: black feminist comedies set in five-star hotels 
Corona Crime: a dystopic thriller highlighting the limits of capitalism. 

Leigh will talk about a career spanning Germany, Austria, China, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Hong Kong and St Helena; how it inspired his books; how his writing made him a better diplomat, and his May 2022 Istanbul thriller, “Palladium“.

  1. Jessica Royle has had an interview for a post In Vienna with L K W WALTER. The interview was in German and she was told her German was very good. The job requires Russian and she is speaking Russian quite well. She will graduate from Bristol in 2022.

    Sorry I missed your talk via MGS Global but I have signed up for future talks.
